Hot Springs

This is bliss and relaxation, especially after a full day of touring, hiking, discovering and conquering the jungle.

The most popular site for hot springs or thermal waters is la Fortuna, where the Arenal volcano   is located, and it is a well-known location for adventures and getting pampered.

There are about 25 different options for hot springs, from basic river side, to fancy resorts and spas… 
Some places offer restaurants, music, cocktails, other ones are just basic and may allow you to bring your own drinks and food.

Among the most popular ones are; Tabacon, Baldi, Eco Termales, the Springs resort, kalambu, termalitas and many more…

The prices are very different, and we can advise you to choose the one that best fits your preferences and budget. You can also stay at one of the many hotels with their own hot springs within their grounds and this way, you can enjoy the hot springs for free!

Where: At La Fortuna mainly, but you can find small spring waters at Guanacaste, by the Rincón de la Vieja and near by Manuel Antonio link to the post.

When: open all day, recommended in the evening, after the sun goes down the temperature of the town goes down, and you can enjoy the hot temperature of the thermals.

Who: for all ages, children must be supervised by an adult.

How much: price vary from the thermals you select, at La Fortuna there are about 20 different options starting at $20 per person entrance only and some hotels offer their own pools with thermal volcanic water, and you can enjoy it for free.

How long: you can stay for as long as you like, however, due to the temperature, it is not recommended for longer than 2 hours.

What to bring: bathing suit and a change of clothing, sandals.
