The Tapir Lodge, deep into the rain forest
Our mission was to rate the Tapir Lodge in the rainforest of Costa Rica, located right next to the Braulio Carrillo National Park. After driving for one hour, we arrived at the most magical place.
As soon as we arrived, we went on the aerial tram. This is a one-of-a-kind experience in Costa Rica, suitable for everybody.
Flying gondolas, traveling through cables 20 feet above the floor, and enjoying a magnificent view is like flying without effort.
Our guide gave us a lot of great information about the jungle, flora, and fauna around us. He also told us stories he learned when we were kids, legends, secrets, and ancient knowledge passed to him by his elders.
The ride was slow, a lazy movement topped by a bit of rain and a little breeze…
Looking down was terrific, an uncommon sensation of freedom, a mix of power and fear.
The rain started to pour down, and the canopy of the jungle became alive. Everything moved. It was a dance, like a spell. It was magical. Oversized branches swung graciously, and the sounds of the jungle turned into a song.
After the aerial tram, now on the ground, we took time to explore the butterfly farm, the orchid garden, the serpentarium, the amphibious exhibition, and the hummingbirds…
It was getting dark. We went to our room to relax for a while, got some coffee and costarring empanadas, and sat on the terrace overlooking the back gardens; when the dark covered everything, the energy surrounding us was powerful; it was like dipping into a different dimension.
As we walked to the restaurant for dinner, we were greeted by two little snakes, two giant beetles, and many insects we had never seen before. Despite the initial surprise, we were determined to enjoy our dinner and felt a warm welcome from the Nature Empire.
Dinner was amazing. There was a really fun menu to choose from, suitable for all preferences and needs, healthy, fresh, and very tasty!
Back to our room, a nice cup of tea, early night, dreaming about the adventures awaiting us the following day…
Wake up and have a copious Costa Rican breakfast, which is enough energy for our walk.
This time, we went without a guide; we took the trail and enjoyed a peaceful hike. We took it easy, about 2 hours and beautiful nature was everywhere.
We were able to observe many species of insects, plants, and trees, the colors and shapes, the jungle’s own language, and everything around us vibrating. We had a wonderful time.
Then, we returned to the hotel, said goodbye, thanked everyone at the lodge, and drove home quietly, enjoying the peaceful energy we brought.
One night, we let our souls sink into this marvelous place, breathing in the tranquility and shedding all our worries like the jungle species do.
